The Contrast Between Faith and Fear
Have you ever thought about the vast difference between faith and fear? So different, yet they actually work by the same principle. The results of each come about by what we think, and what we believe, and what we say. Both are a result of the seed we’ve sown in our lives. If it only takes faith the size of a mustard seed to move mountains out of our lives (Matt 17:20), then it stands to reason that it will only take that much fear to bring mountains into our lives.
Faith is from God and its purpose is to bring His blessings to us, while fear is from the devil and its purpose is to bring destruction to us. It really is that simple. In real life it takes more than just reading it on paper. It takes action on our part. No matter how much God wants to bless us; wants to heal us and keep us healthy; wants to prosper us and give us good success, we are the other part of the equation. God provides all we need but we have to believe with faith to bring those provisions into our lives.
Now the Bible does talk about the fear of man and the fear of God. Proverbs 29:25 tells us that the fear of man brings a snare (trap), and Proverbs 9:10 tells us that the fear (reverence) of God is the beginning of wisdom.
Faith and fear are magnets. Fear draws lack. Faith draws provision.
Faith and fear are expectations. Fear expects the worst and brings defeat. Faith expects the best and brings victory.
Faith and fear work the same way. Anything believed in fear, fear can take from you. Anything believed in faith, faith can bring to you.
Faith and fear come by listening. Fear comes by listening to the lies of the devil. Faith comes by hearing the Word of God (Romans 10:17).
We grow our faith by the Word of God and we maintain our faith by the Word of God. We must be a reader of the Word and a doer of the Word. We must know who we are in Christ and how to walk according to the Word of God to receive His blessings. Does that mean we will never have any troubles or problems or disagreements? No. But it does mean that we have the help of God to get the victory in every situation. We must know that fear is NOT of God (2 Timothy 1:7). God is love (1 John 4:8). Love never fails (1Corn 13:8). There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts our fear, because fear involves torment. But he who fears has not been made perfect in love (1 John 4:18).
So put your faith and trust in the Lord Jesus Christ. Re-affirm your faith daily in the Word.

Good Word Mary! Most of us don’t think about our fear filled words actually pulling mountains into our lives.
In my studies today I found Ps. 24: “Who may stand in His holy place? He who has clean hands and a pure heart, who has not lifted up his soul to falsehood, and has not sworn deceitfully.” God protects and blesses those who believe and trust His word. There is a “strong tower” to be found for refuge of those who trust God to be who He says He is.
You are such a teacher! Great insight. Jan
