Celebrating Jesus

thYesterday was Easter and like many of you I celebrated with family and friends.  I love Easter – or more preferably Resurrection Day.  It just makes more sense to me to say Resurrection Day because it connects the holiday to the reason for this season – Jesus being raised from death to life – and thereby giving us access to eternal life.  I say access because even though this eternal life is offered freely to everyone, each person must make their own decision to believe and accept this eternal life.   (John 3:3 and 16-18)

When I say Happy Resurrection Day I see the empty Cross that Jesus died on and the empty tomb where He was laid and now has risen from, reminding me that I have eternal life by believing in Jesus, God’s Son.

We must remember that without Jesus’ obedience to give His life for us as the payment for sin we would not have the opportunity to become a child of God.  Romans 6:23 teaches us that the “wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord”.  We also learn from Romans 3:23 that everyone falls short of the glory of God; meaning everyone has sin in them; except Jesus of course, He knew no sin but was holy and righteous.  So in order for Him to take the death penalty for us – for our sins – in essence He had to take our it by faith believing in God’s Word; the reverse of what we do for Salvation – we take His righteousness by faith believing in God’s Word.  (2 Corinthians 5:21)

It is by faith we believe and take the new life offered in Jesus Christ called eternal life – Salvation.  (John 3:3, 16-18; John 14:6)

It is by faith we believe and take the healing for our bodies when they are sick.  (Isaiah 53:5; 1 Peter 2:24)

It is by faith we believe and take the peace of God and choose not to worry about situations that concern us.  (Philippians 4:6; 1 Peter 5:7)

It is by faith we believe and take the provisions for our needs, including prosperity.  (Deuteronomy 11:226-27; Proverbs 10:22; Isaiah 1:19)

It is by faith we believe and take the Gospel of Jesus to those who need Him.  (Matthew 28:19; Mark 16:15-18

God has a place for you in His Kingdom; your life and testimony matters to God.  Receive and walk in the truths of His Word and you will live successfully.
