Remembering Memorial Day
2May 26, 2022 by maryruwe
This is Memorial Weekend and I challenge you to take time to thank God for the men and women who have given their lives in fighting for our freedoms, and for their families. I’m sure that most realize that freedom is not free nor is it cheap; its cost lives of soldiers, a son or daughter, a husband or wife, a father or mother, a brother or sister. In remembering them we give them honor, and we (I) say THANK YOU.
To the many soldiers who answer the call
Who serve their Country and give their all
They fought and still fight for freedom for you and me
To save the legacy of this freedom and liberty
The sacrifices made by each soldier and their family
We give great honor to each respectively
We will remember and never forget
No matter where you served or serving yet
So, to those gone by and those of today
We say Thank You for the price that you pay
As we remember our military on this special day, let’s not forget the ONE who gave His life on the Cross of Calvary for our eternal freedom – Jesus.
John 3:16 For God so loved the world that He sent His only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting (eternal) life.
Romans 5:8 But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.
Romans 10:9-10 If you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.
1 John 1:9 If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
Make this day a day of remembrance by believing that Jesus died for your sins and receive His forgiveness. If already a Christian, then humbly thank Him for being your Savior and helping you live a life that glorifies him.

Love the poem, Mary. Did you write that?
Hi Lisa, yes, I wrote the poem….
