Revived For A Purpose

We are seeing revival in colleges across our Nation. Hallelujah! These are an answer to prayers for our Nation. May the repentance and renewed commitments to God be everlasting in the lives of each one. The word revival means to revive back to life consciousness, to make or become fresh or strong again, to bring back into use. The Bible says that a person without Jesus is already dead because of their sin, but made alive unto God through Jesus Christ (Romans 6:11). It is wonderful when a person returns to God with a sincere repentant heart, making a new commitment to faithfully live a holy life. But it is better to never walk away from God. God is bringing Salvation to the lost, refreshing to His believers, and using their talents to further His Kingdom.

The move of the Holy Spirit always brings a refreshing strength to believers when we yield to Him. This refreshing of the Holy Spirit is for all believers every day. We stay refreshed and strong in our faith, of course, by fellowshipping daily with our Lord Jesus Christ, and God our Father in prayer and Bible study. Being involved in a Church with friends also helps to keeps us stable in our faith.

If you and I want the Lord to use us in His Kingdom, then we must be and stay prepared and ready. Second Timothy 4:2 instructs us to be instant in season and out of season; meaning “to always be ready to give an answer for the reason we believe what we believe about God and our Savior Jesus Christ. Staying revived means, we stay ready; listening for directions and instructions from the Holy Spirit each day.

As the title of this message says, God has a purpose for reviving each person; new believers and “long-time” believers. Philippians 1:6 tell us that we can be confident that the good work He has begun in us, He is able to perform (in us) until the day of Jesus Christ. The closer we stay to God, the more refreshed we are spiritually, and the more refreshed we are with the Holy Spirit the better prepared we are to minister to someone when an opportunity comes each day.

I encourage you to stay in close fellowship with Jesus every day. Yield to the Holy Spirit each time He directs you to speak to someone about Salvation in Jesus, or to pray with someone who is searching for answers that only God can answer. Stay revived in the power of God and fulfill your purpose that God has for you.
