My Writing Process Blog Tour

Hi Everyone,  This is my new desk.  Love it.  As you can see I haven’t had it long because it doesn’t have any clutter on it!   This week I’ve been asked by my friend Karla Tabor to join a Blog Tour called “My Writing Process Blog”.   Thank you Karla for believing in me and giving me this opportunity.   Since she is also one of my bloggers mentioned below, information about her is listed there.

The tour is used for bloggers to talk and answer questions about their writing process, (and I think also for you our readers to have a chance to find new blogs to read).

1   What am I working on?   I am currently writing two devotional books, a book of poetry, and music.   The two devotional books are still in the beginning stages.   I will soon have the final editing finished for the poetry book and then it will be ready to publish.  The music is my newest adventure so it consists of several songs at various levels of completion.

2  Why do I write what I do?    When I was young there weren’t many girls in my neighborhood to play with so I would walk around the house with paper and pencil pretending I was taking “notes”.   I was always writing something down.   Today I think of my writing as leaving a legacy for others; perhaps there will be something in what I say that will make a difference in their lives.  My purpose is to encourage and inspire others to be all they can be in Christ.

3  How does my writing process work?   I had to really think about this.  Do I have a process?  Well, yes of course I do; there is always a process.  Maybe we recognize it, maybe we don’t, but there is always a process.  It could be fast and furious to meet a deadline, or maybe very slow and methodical.  Some people may write only in the mornings or only late at night.  Me?  Well, I seem to do both.  I like to get up early to read and write.  Then whatever I haven’t finished in the morning I want to complete in the evening.  Sometimes that happens and sometimes it doesn’t.  Mostly I seem to write at both ends of the day!  Since I am writing more now I have learned to schedule “writing” into my daily list of things to do.  Before it was just when I found the time after everything else was done.  Just for the record, a scheduled time is better.   Also having a place to write, other than the kitchen table has helped tremendously. Less distractions and interruptions, and being further away from food is a major help!

Bloggers I’m Nominating to Join the Blog Tour:   Some of you may already know the people I’m nominating, but for those who are new to reading blogs, I think you will enjoy the variety of talent and style of each writer.

1   Art Mills.   Although he had to decline joining the Blog Tour at this time, I think many of you will find his blog very timely as he ministers the Word of God.  I met Art 25 years ago when my daughter introduced us.  He is a Godly man who sets his goals, life and priorities on the plans and purposes that God has for him.  He is a very devoted husband and father.  He is a 2008 graduate of Rhema Bible Training College.   I am sure that you will enjoy reading his articles, be encouraged, and gain insight on how to apply the Word of God to your life.

2   Karla Tabor is the one who asked me to join the Blog Tour. I think you will be blessed by her writings.  I met Karla at a writer’s group called Writer’s Bloc, and then again at the Music Composers group, which she leads.  She is a writer, a composer, and a singer.  I find her very sincere in her approach to living her life to bless others according to the Word of God.  She is very knowledgeable about music and she enjoys teaching and sharing her knowledge with others.  She has her own recording business and studio.  She is also writing a novel.   Check out her website for more detail:

3   Mica Charity Olinghouse, is a professional writer/editor and owns her own editorial/multimedia service alliance called Millennial Media.  She is a graduate of both Oral Roberts University (BS in Mass Media Communications/Print Journalism) and Rhema Bible Training Center (Pastoral Ministry).  Mica leads the Writer Bloc group that I belong to.  She is an encouragement, help and inspiration.
