il_fullxfull.319762996[1]Its Thanksgiving week and everyone has their eye on the “feasting day”.  Our plans include family and friends and of course that wonderful meal with special recipes and dishes. But let’s NOT forget the real reason for the day. It is to be thankful to God for our many blessings and for who HE is. He is God Almighty, the Creator of the universe, our Savior, healer, counselor, and the best friend anyone could ever have. So let’s be thankful.

There may be times in our lives when things are not going too great but we can still have a grateful heart. When we know Jesus as Savior; we have a lot to be thankful for. Let’s make it a habit to just be a grateful person. It is a decision; really it is (Psalm 34:1). We all have days that are busy and sometimes don’t go according to our schedule, but when we purpose in our heart to be thankful, we make the day better. When we make the decision each day to live worthy of our Lord, we put our heart into motion to be kind in word and action. We think more clearly because we have set our heart to be like Jesus.

When we walk in that close fellowship with Him, we will not be shaken when problems arise. Why? Because we know that the Problem-Solver is walking with us and has the wisdom we need for the decisions of the day.

Don’t let a day go by without being truly grateful that God loves you, cares about you, and wants the best for you. Draw near to Him and let His presence comfort you, encourage you and guide you. He has good plans for you. He made you with purpose and He knows how to help you fulfill that purpose and plan. God is good.

Have a very wonderfully blessed Thanksgiving and I will see you next week.

Psalm 106:1 – Oh, give thanks to the Lord, for He is good! For His mercy endures forever.

Philippians 4:4-5 – Rejoice in the Lord always. Again I will say rejoice. Let your gentleness be known to all men. The Lord is at hand.

Ephesians 5:20 – Give thanks always for (in) all things to God the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Psalm 34:1 – I will bless the Lord at all times; His praise shall continually be in my mouth.
