thHappy Easter everyone!  Today we are celebrating Jesus’ Resurrection from the dead.  Yes, Jesus died, and He rose again.  Jesus died for our sin and took the penalty of sin which is death, but death could not hold Him because the sin He took was NOT his own, it was ours.  Because He was sinless – in other words He himself never sinned – then death had no right to take His life.  Therefore legally death could not keep Him.  When Jesus rose from that death-penalty He brought with Him the power of death and now it has no sting or fear to it for those who believe in Him.  So what do we have in this Resurrection that is more commonly called Easter?  Let’s take a look.

EEternal Life – The word eternal means everlasting, perpetual. Perpetual is the continuing forever, occurring continually, and constant. The word eternity means infinite duration.  Now that’s a long time!  We have Eternal life in Jesus with our faith (John 3:15, First John 2:25).

A – Authority – Jesus has given us back the power and authority that Adam gave up by his sin of disobedience of eating of the fruit of the Tree of Good and Evil (Matthew 28:18-19).  Jesus was given the Name above all names and He gave us the right to use His Name to rules and reign in this life over the devil (Ephesians 1:17-22).

S – Son-ship – By Jesus taking our penalty for our sin He gave us back the son-ship that we would have had in Adam if he had never sinned.  When we accept Jesus as Savior we become a son or daughter of God; an heir of God and joint heir with Jesus (Romans 8:16017).

T – Truth – God’s Word is truth and all He has said has and will come to pass (1 John 5:20).  Jesus said, “I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life, no one comes to the Father but by me” (John 15:6).  Jesus said in John 8:32 that when we know this truth it will set us free.  It is this truth that Jesus is the Savior of the world that sets us free from the dominion and darkness of sin and called us into his marvelous light (1 Peter 2:9).

EEverlasting – We have an everlasting Covenant with God Almighty through Jesus’ Blood when we accept Jesus as our Savior (Hebrew 13:20).  A covenant is a formal binding agreement.  So according to Romans 10:13 whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.  All we have to do to received His Gift of Salvation is believe in our heart that God has raise him from the dead and confess with our mouth the Lord Jesus (Romans 10:9-10).

RRighteousness – Being righteous means being in accordance with what is just.  God who is a righteous just judge cannot allow sin in His presence BUT according to Second Corinthians 5:21, Jesus – who never sinned – was made sin for us (and paid the penalty of sin for us) that we might be made the righteousness in of God in Him.  So now we can come into the Presence of God without fear of judgment but in confidence of His acceptance because we believe in Jesus.  It is by faith that we receive the gift of Salvation provided through Jesus death, burial, and resurrection.  We receive everything from God by faith.

Dear Heavenly Father, we thank you for providing the way of Salvation through Jesus.  We thank you that by faith in Him we have access to all the Promises in Your Word.  You are a good God, a Holy God, and a Glorious God.  Thank you for loving us.
