The Vision Of God For You

thWhen was the last time you thought about the vision for your life?  Have you considered lately the viewpoint of your plan to reach that vision?  We all know that plans sometimes change.  At times it’s as we complete one goal and begin another.  Other times it happens when we realize the plan we are working on is only the foundation of a bigger vision within us that we didn’t see earlier.  I think that happens more often than we realize or think about.

Okay, here’s a more intense question:  when was the last time you thought about God’s vision for your life?  We need to stop once in a while and think about whether or not our plan is the one God wants us on.  Sometimes it is and other times we have even neglected to ask Him about it.  It is God who gives us our gifts and talents so doesn’t it make sense that we should be looking to Him for guidance in how He would want us to use them?  I think so.

When I began writing this blog about God’s vision I was thinking along the lines of how He looks at everything, and how much better off we are when we have His viewpoint and vision for our life.  This is not to discourage anyone but to spur us on to a closer fellowship with our Lord.  After all He is the one created us for good works, so it makes sense to do the works He created us for.  No matter what it is in this life that we are looking for and working for, the truth is that if we seek first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness all these other things fall in proper order in our life.  To really enjoy the good fruit of our labor things need to be in proper priority.

Step 1:  Viewpoint of God:  As I just stated we first must look to God for guidance (Matthew 6:33).  We need to acknowledge Him in all our ways so He can direct our paths (Proverbs 3:6).  When we commit to living the way God instructs then we will be living our lives according to His viewpoint.

Step 2:  Interests of God: When we commit our lives to our Heavenly Father we will carry in our heart His interests.  His high priority on His interest list is the souls of people, their health and well being.  Proverbs 4:20-22 instructs us to give attention to His Word and let them not depart from our eyes, for they are health to all their flesh.  God is interested in every intricate part of our lives, and He has made provision to meet all of them.

Step 3: Spirit of God: As we submit to His Vision for our lives, then His interests are accomplished through us.  All of this is done by the Spirit of God within us.  Romans 8:16 tells us that the Spirit Himself beats witness with our spirit that we are children of God.  Ephesians 2:22 puts it this way: in whom you also are being built together for a dwelling place of God in the Spirit.  As we yield to the leading of the Holy Spirit we will manage our lives with the viewpoint and interests of God with the Spirit of God and that will result is receiving the inheritance of God.

Step 4:  Inheritance of God:  As children of God we inherit all the same benefits as Jesus did.  Jesus walked and ministered to people by the Power of God, with the Love of God, that resulted in the Freedom of God.  When we are healed of and from sickness and disease we have freedom of good health.  When we have all our needs met we have freedom of prosperity.  When we have the Gospel of Jesus in our heart (Salvation) we have freedom of right standing with the Creator of the World. Ephesians 1:17-18 tells us that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ gives us the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him, the eyes of our understanding being enlightened; that we may know what is the hope of His calling, and the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints. Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ (Ephesians 1:3).

Step 5: Ownership of the Word of God:  When we decide to live by the commands of God we take ownership of the promises in His Word.  We cannot have the promises of God operating in our lives without taking our responsibility to live according to His Will. Whatever principles are abundant in our heart – that is what we are living by.  God has the vision for our lives and the plans to reach the goal, but if we never cooperate with Him we will never reach the destiny He has for us.  We must take the ownership of our responsibility for our obedience to Him.

Step 6: Now God is:  Now is the time for Salvation (2 Corinthians 6:2).  Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen (Hebrews 11:1).  Now the just shall live by faith (Hebrew10:38).  Now abide faith, hope, and love (1 Corinthians 13:13).

Remember it is our seeking first the Kingdom of God and his righteousness that puts us in a position to receive revelation and knowledge of His Will, restrains us from sin, and protects us from destruction, and gives us the power to live holy lives (Proverbs 29:18 and Hosea 4:6 and 2 Corinthians 13:4).

Have a great week.
