The Circle Of Healing

thEveryone knows what a circle is, right?  It’s continuous with no beginning and no end. Seems like a description of God.  We read in Revelation 22:13, “I am the Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end, the first and the last.”  I also like what Hebrews 13:8 reveals about Jesus; “Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever”.  Psalm 119:160 tells us, “The entirety of Your word is truth, and every one of Your righteous judgments endures forever”.  So, what does all this have to do with healing?  Everything!

Many, many years ago, when I first learned that God heals, it changed my life forever. Many times, I’ve received healing in my body; from colds and bronchitis to injured knees and ankles, even headaches and depression.  And it’s because God never changes.  He is the same as He always has been and always will be.  This is why we can depend on His Word to be true.

As I studied the Bible, I also learned that my words are all important to whether I received the healing blessing of God. Me receiving healing isn’t just dependent upon Him; I have a part too.  He has provided healing but I learned that I had to speak His healing power over my body and life.

PHYSICAL HEALING: There are a few things we need to know about physical healing.

First, God does not give us sickness or disease; He gives us healing from sickness and disease.  In Acts 10:38 we learn that God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power, who went about doing good and healing all that were oppressed of the devil.  It can’t get any plainer than that.

A second truth we must know and believe is God wills for us to be healed. The man with leprosy knew that Jesus could heal him (in other words knew Jesus had the power) but wasn’t sure if it was Jesus’ will, but Jesus answered him with, “I will: be thou clean”.  (Luke 5:12-15)

A third truth to know and understand is that God has provided healing for us.  God provided healing for us by sending His Word to us.  Psalm 107:20 tell us that God sent His Word to heal us. According to John 1:1 and 14 Jesus is that Word.

We also need to know that living in obedience, or disobedience, to God’s Word can be a determining factor in our receiving the blessings of God.  We cannot just give “lip service” in agreement to His Word, we must live in agreement with His Word.

We must carefully guard our heart against only wanting the benefits of God; we must also want His nature in our spirit and soul.
