Prayer Notes

Prayer is the avenue of how the power of God comes into our lives. I’m sure you know how important it is that we pray every day; and also know we probably should not box ourselves in to one prayer a day, but to keep ourselves in an attitude of prayer so we will hear God’s voice when He is prompting us to pray for a person or a situation throughout the day….like that of our Country.

When we pray, we are giving God access to intervene in our lives and the affairs of our Country, because when we pray God moves on the earth.  God wants to bless us, so let’s make sure we pray.

The more we pray the more comfortable we are in praying. Ever hear the saying, “practice makes perfect”?  All that means is that we get better at whatever we do often. So, pray often, and you’ll find that not only do you enjoy it but your faith will increase as you pray the Word. We should always pray in faith.  The only way to do this is to know God’s Word; because faith comes by hearing and hearing the Word of God. (Romans 10:17)

First John 5:14-15 informs us that our confidence in prayer is when we pray according to the will of God, He hears our prayers, and when we know He hears us, we know we have our petitions answered – because we’ve prayed according to His Word.

If you are not sure how to exactly put the Word into a prayer, here is an example.

Proverbs 15:1 teaches that a soft answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger.   To pray this verse you might say, “Lord, I ask that you direct my thoughts and words to be softly spoken so I will not stir up wrath and anger in others.”

First Thessalonians 5:16-18 instructs us to rejoice always, pray without ceasing, and in everything give thanks.  So, start a new commitment today that you will increase your prayer time, praying in faith, and expect God to move mightily on your behalf.
