Psalm 24:1-2 The earth is the Lord’s, and all its fullness.  The world and those who dwell therein.

All believers in Jesus belong to God as His children.  Un-believers belong to God as his creation.  God knows where we dwell, and all that concerns us. Father, reveal Jesus to the un-believer that they may be saved.  Lord, help believers to walk in the security of Your Love and Presence.

Psalm 24:3-4 Who may ascend into the hill of the Lord? Or who may stand in His holy place? He who has clean hands and a pure heart. Who has not lifted up his soul to an idol; nor sworn deceitfully.

Lord, help us keep our hands clean, and our heart pure so we can stand confidently in Your Holy Place. Lift us up above any falsehood that may try to deceive us. Fellowship with God is not automatic; only the righteous are accorded that privilege.

Psalm 24:5-6 He shall receive blessing from the Lord, and righteousness from the God of his salvation. This is Jacob, the generation of those who seek Him, who seek Your face.

It is those who have Salvation in Jesus as Savior who shall receive the blessing from the Lord. It is those who seek God and His face.

Psalm 24:7 Lift up your heads, O you gates! And be lifted up, you everlasting doors! And the King of glory shall come in.

This reminds me of a person receiving Salvation. The lifting of our head is a thought-driven-decision of recognizing who God is, and who Jesus is. Our eyes and ears are the gateway of what we’re seeing and hearing that determine whether we position ourselves so He can lift us up.  Jesus stands at the door of our heart, our daily lives, waiting for us to invite Him in; and when we do, He then will lift us up.

Psalm 24:8 Who is the King of glory?  The Lord strong and mighty, The Lord mighty in battle.

Father, help us to remember that You are mighty in battle; our shield and strong tower. Help us to know that you won the battle and we are free to rest in you and not be fretful or anxious concerning the circumstances and situations in the world.

Psalm 24:9-10 Lift up your heads, O you gates! Lift up, you everlasting doors! And the King of glory shall come in. Who is this King of glory? The Lord of hosts, He is the King of glory.

It is Jesus who is the King of Glory; and it is He to whom we lift our hearts, words, and life to in praise for all He has done for us. Thank you, Lord, for your faithfulness to Your Word. Thank You for your love and mercy, the forgiveness of our sins, and for never leaving us or forsaking us but always, always being with us.
