God Heals

Let’s talk about the healing power of God for a few minutes. This is from notes I shared with some friends at a breakfast fellowship recently. I do pray that they minister hope and encouragement to you as you seek God for a healing in your body.
First, let’s talk about the light of God. That may seem like an odd place to begin but we must remember that everything we see in this world began with God’s first recorded words in Genesis 1:3, “Let there be light.” Our ability to receive anything from God is rooted in the light-or the understanding we have of His Word. We know how important it is to have light when darkness sets in. This is true both in this natural realm and in the spiritual realm. Light exposes both the negative and the positive; fear and faith, enmity and love. In the natural, light can expose hidden things; like dust under a dresser or couch, or a shoe on the stairway. According to First John 1:5, God is light. His light exposes the hidden things in our heart that are displeasing to Him that we are not aware of, such as envy, jealousy, bitterness, covetousness, and fear, to mention a few. His light also gives us revelation on the truths in His Word. It’s when we get a revelation of His Truths (principles and promises) that we begin to understand that He wants us healed and be in good health and has provided healing for our bodies when they become sick.
Isaiah 10:27 declares, “The yoke shall be destroyed because of the anointing.” The word yoke is used figuratively in the Bible as: oppression, bondage, legalistic ordinances, and submission. Acts 10:38 tells us that God anointed Jesus with the power of the Holy Ghost, who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil, for God was with him. This Scripture alone tells us that: 1) God wants us healed because He anointed Jesus with power to heal; and 2) that sickness is an oppression from the devil.
Psalm 107:20 informs us that He (God) sent his word, and healed them, and delivered them from their destructions. Sickness and diseases are destructions. This means that the Word of God heals. John 1:14 tells us that the Word was made flesh (Jesus). We learn from Isaiah 53:5 that we are healed by his wounds, which is the same meaning as First Peter 2:24, by whose stripes you were healed. Those stripes refer to the scourging (beating) they gave Jesus before they crucified him. (Matthew 27:26, Mark 15:15, John 19:1) We can see from these Scriptures that healing is part of the Salvation that Jesus purchased for us with Blood.
We have learned from these Scriptures that God wants us healed (and be in good health), and He has provided for our healing. However, just as it is required that we believe in Jesus to receive Him as our Savior, it is also required that we believe in Jesus to receive Him as our Healer. It’s all about believing and trusting God by faith that we receive His promises.
My prayer is that this short message will help you understand that healing is the children’s bread given to us by God through Jesus Christ.

Well said, Mary!!
