Remember and Know

This weekend we in America celebrate Memorial Day.   This day we remember our American History and how we as a nation live in freedom.   Freedom is costly.  It was in the beginning of our nation and it is still costly today to maintain.  It takes finances to have military and the supplies they need to do the job they are assigned.  All those who have served have left a legacy.  I am grateful for every person who has ever served in the military of this great nation.  Yes, the United States of America is still a great nation.  There may be those who would like to change its course but we are still free and we still pursue freedom.  This is the time we remember the history of our Country.  Maybe read a book or watch a movie or two.

This all has to do with our natural freedom in this natural world, but we also can have a spiritual freedom too.  That freedom was costly too.  That freedom was bought and paid for by the Blood of Jesus on the Cross of Calvary.

Let’s back up for a moment to a few basics: you are a spirit being, you have a soul (your mind and your will), and you live in a body.  At the present we live in this body and in this world. You and I will live forever, somewhere.

Where we spend eternity, after the death of this body, is based on our relationship with Jesus.  If He is our Savior then we will be in heaven when we leave this world.  If we have not accepted Him as Savior, then we will not be in heaven but in hell. That eternal destination is up to us and we have to make that decision before we leave this world.

So now you realize that you have a history book too.  You have a past, a present and a future.  You write in this history book each day by your decisions, behavior and attitude, and even motives.  They are all recorded in your personal history book.  Page after page, chapter after chapter, year after year are all recorded.  What is your page today saying about you?  Do you need to accept Jesus as Savior?  Did you make that decision some time ago but have not been following Him and need to rededicate your life to Him?  Below are some Scriptures to help you make either decision for that eternal destination.

Decision for Accepting Jesus:

John 3:16   For God so loved the world that He gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in him should not perish, but have eternal life.

John 3:17  For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.

Romans 10:9  That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.

Decision for re-dedication:

Luke 15:11-24  We are the ones who go astray and sin and it is we who must return to Jesus.  (The Father and the Son are waiting for you and will not cast you away.)

1 John 1:9  If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

Philippians 3:13  We need to forget those things which are behind us, and reach forth unto those things which are before us.

Regardless which decision you have made, you need to find a good church that teaches the Word of God and learn how to live in the victory that is provided in the benefits of being a Christian, a child of the Most High God.

I look forward to hearing about your decision.  Remember to sign up to follow me by clicking the “follow” button on the lower right and you will get an email reminder of my posts.
