Praising God

Do you remember the song, “Praise Him”?  The words of this song really remind us how to keep in fellowship with God every day, all day.   The words teach us to praise Him in the morning, in the noon time, when the sun goes down, which should be our lifestyle, a constant awareness of His Presence with us.

In the morning:    Each morning represents a new beginning; a new day of opportunities and new decisions. Lamentations 3:22-23 tells us that God’s compassion and mercies are new every morning; therefore we can hope in Him.   We don’t have to let the past dictate what our present or future is to be.  We don’t have to let the memories of yesterday spoil today.  So let’s make sure we have the Word of God dwelling in us so richly that His Power will change us into the very image of Christ.  Every morning let’s seek first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness.  Choose wisely what you will do with each day, purposing to live for God.

In the noon time:  This represents the working hours of the day our life.  As a Christian it represents being a living witness for God.  Romans 6:4 tell us that we should walk in newness of life.  In Ephesians 5:15 we read that we are to walk circumspectly, not as fools, but as the wise.  Circumspectly, means to consider carefully all circumstances and consequences.  We are God’s workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, according to Ephesians 2:10.  And First Thessalonians 2:12 says we are to walk worthy of God.  Again choose wisely during the day to respond to each situation, each decision with God’s purpose and heart in mind for the basis for that decision.  Take time during the day to fellowship with God and renew your mind and strength in Him.

When the sun goes down:  Now to me this represents the evening time and rest after our working day.  We should close out our day spending time with the Lord, thanking Him for His care, His ever-present help during the day.  We should search our hearts and see if we have displeased Him in any way during the day and ask for His forgiveness if necessary.  This is the time to rejoice in the fact that He has kept us during the day.  This is also the time to ask for a good night’s restful sleep and protection during the night (Proverbs 3:24).

As we can see our lives are to be a constant example of Jesus to the world; every day, morning, afternoon or noontime, and evening, we should be living for Jesus in all that we do and say.

Let us purpose to make each day a day that will bring praise to Him by purposely making decisions that show our love for Him, serving Him and being faithful to Him.  God is worthy to be praised.
