STRENGTH

Physical strength, or should I say the lack of physical strength, is something I’ve been dealing with lately. Life has been busy, as I’m sure yours is too, and if not, careful we begin to deal with the feeling of weakness or lack of good solid strength while we deal with life issues. My cure for that is to refresh my memory on what the Bible has to say about strength, and to monitor my words on whether I’m speaking weakness or strength to my body.

Though we feel the lack of strength in our bodies, and of course, it could be a medical problem, the flip side is the spiritual underlining base of the spirit of heaviness that Satan uses to steal, kill and destroy us (John 10:10). The antidote for the spirit of heaviness is the garment of praise and the oil of joy. (Isaiah 61:3) I think it is safe to say that most everyone should be praising God more! We also learn from Proverbs 17:22 that a merry heart is good like medicine.

So, I’m just sharing a few of the Scriptures that I’ve been meditating on and hope that they will be of some help to you too. Make them personal by speaking the truth of each one over your life.

Isaiah 40:29, “He gives power to the weak, and to those who have no might He increases strength”.

1 Chronicles 16:11, look to the Lord and his strength; seek his face always. (Also Psalm 105:4)

Nehemiah 8:10, for the joy of the Lord is your strength.

Psalm 18:32, it is God who arms me with strength and keeps my way secure.

Psalm 28:7, the Lord is my strength and my shield; my heart trust in him, and he helps me. My heart leaps for joy, and with my song I praise Him.

Psalm 46:1, God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble.

Psalm 84:5, blessed are those whose strength is in you, whose hearts are set on pilgrimage (whose heart is set on your ways).

Isaiah 40:29, he gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak.

Isaiah 41:10, so do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.

Philippians 4:13, I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.
